Coral reefs play an essential role in creating healthy ecosystems, above and below the water.
But THERE's A PROBLEM
Reefs are struggling to survive worldwide.
When corals bleach and die (due to rising ocean temperatures, human destruction, pollution, you name it), fish and other creatures leave to seek out new homes and coastal communities struggle to maintain their ways of life.

Mother of Corals takes a creative approach to coral reef restoration.
We provide coastal communities with the tools they need to help reefs thrive.
We start by building artificial reef structures out of cement. Over time, corals grow on top of these structures to form fully functioning reefs— reviving the ecosystem and restoring the natural balance.
By working together with local communities to promote environmental and economic growth, we can make a sustainable impact on coasts and coral reefs alike.

We're passionate about ocean conservation, and we have fun doing it.
Mother of Corals is a team of ocean-obsessed scientists, conservationists, and travelers. From our home base in Bocas del Toro, Panama, we’re focused on sharing knowledge and resources with coastal communities to further our global oceanic impact.
Known around Bocas for our many reef restoration efforts, Founder Krista Shoe and the MOC team were also instrumental in designating our archipelago as a Mission Blue Hope Spot.
